What are the State Editions?
Fifty crests, one for each state. Every crest is keyed to its own state — drawn around the state bird and the state flower, set in a quiet heraldic frame. You wear the place, not a logo. See the full set on the State Editions page.
Is the crest embroidered or printed?
Always embroidered, never printed. The crest is stitched in Italian thread on a master machine — roughly five minutes and twelve threads per crest. You feel it under the thumb before you see it, and it is made to last a lifetime of rounds.
How is the crest made?
Each state crest begins as a drawing built around that state’s bird and flower, then it is digitized stitch by stitch into an embroidery file and proofed in thread. Once the file is right, it is stitched into your chosen piece in your colorway. More on the process lives on the Craftsmanship page.
Can I order a state I don’t live in?
Of course. Wear where you are from, or where you are headed. Many of our customers collect the states that mark their own map.
Why made to order?
We do not hold inventory of stitched pieces. When you choose a state, the right blank is pulled, the crest is embroidered in your colorway, and the piece is finished for you. It keeps the line considered and the crest exact.
How long until it ships?
Allow seven to ten days for the embroidery and finishing before your piece is dispatched. You will have tracking the moment it leaves us.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Write the concierge as soon as you can. Before a piece enters production we can change the size, colorway, or state, or cancel outright. Once the crest is being stitched the piece is yours — made to order means made for you — so we cannot cancel it then, though we will always help you find the right fit.
How does it fit?
A regular fit, lightly tailored — close to the body without pulling. The quarter-zip and gilet are cut a touch roomier for layering. Between sizes? Size down on the layers, hold your size on the polo.

Measurements for every garment live on the Sizing & Fit page, with chest, shoulder, and length by size. Still unsure, write us — we answer every note.
Do you ship free?
Free U.S. ground shipping over $75 — which covers every State Edition. Orders under $75 ship for a flat $8. Either way it typically arrives 3–5 business days after dispatch.
Do you ship internationally?
Not just yet — we currently ship within the United States. Canada and beyond are coming soon. If you would like a piece shipped abroad in the meantime, write the concierge and we will arrange it by hand. Full detail is on the Shipping & Returns page.
What is your return policy?
Unworn, unwashed pieces may be returned within thirty days of receipt. State Editions are made to order, but we still stand behind every crest — if something is off, write us and we will make it right. See the Returns page for the full policy.
Can I exchange a piece?
Exchanges for size or colorway are free within the United States. The crest stays with the state, though — once a piece has been stitched there is no exchange between states.
How should I care for it?
Machine wash cold, inside out; lay flat or tumble low. Iron with the embroidery face down to protect the thread sheen. The Italian thread is durable; it is still worth the small kindness.
Can I send it as a gift?
Yes. Add a note at checkout and we will include a hand-set card, prices omitted. The Gifts page can offer a steer if you would like one.
What is the Fifty-State Collector Box?
All fifty state crests as embroidered patches, set in a hand-finished walnut presentation box with a brass plate — the whole country on one shelf. It is our most considered gift, a lifetime’s pursuit housed in one place.
Do you do team or chapter orders?
We do — for clubs, teams, and fraternities. Write us about quantities and we will arrange it properly.
